Making Up Failed Courses at Simeon

Making Up Failed Courses at Simeon

If you have failed any coursework at Simeon please consult your counselor about what your options are.  Even if you are unsure of whether or not you have failed a course come see your counselor to make sure.

You should always make up your classes as soon as possible.  If you want to make sure that you graduate on time then you should take the make-up classes before your senior year.  DO NOT WAIT UNTIL SENIOR YEAR TO MAKE UP YOUR CLASSES.

When you visit your counselor keep your options open to taking certain classes (as not all classes might be offered at one place).  Your options for making up a class include:

Simeon Saturday School - Takes place at Simeon Career Academy on Saturdays and will be offered at the beginning of each semester.  Do not wait to see your counselor or you might miss out on the opportunity to take these classes.

Public Schools Evening School - Takes place after-school and is offered at two intervals.  The first is during the whole semester and usually takes place on two-nights a week.  The second option is for one quarter and is offered for longer hours for two-nights a week.  You need to check with your counselor, as most of the Chicago Public Schools offer Evening School, but not all of them.

CPS Summer School - Summer school is open to all Simeon students for 3 1/2 weeks per session.  Students may make up one full credit during the summer.
